Hello C-U cyclists!

The Campus Bike Center, The Bike Project of Urbana-Champaign, and Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center are hosting the annual kids and pre-teen bike giveaway on Saturday, December 20 from 1-3 p.m. at the Urbana Champaign Independent Media Center. This event provides access to bikes for underserved communities. Started in 2020 as a response to the pandemic, the event has distributed nearly 300 bikes to children in the community.

We’re looking for more bikes to refurbish! If you want to donate a bike for this event (any kids size and condition can be repaired for this event), drop them off at the Campus Bike Center (51 E Gregory Dr, Champaign) or at The Bike Project of Urbana-Champaign (202 S. Broadway Ave., Urbana) until Friday, December 19 at 6 p.m.  To donate and arrange a drop-off, please call 217-469-5126 or email contact@thebikeproject.org.
